We went on a airplane from Salt Lake city to Dallas Texas with Grandpa Morris, Billy, me, Braiden, and Javen. It was the their first airplane ride and they had so much fun and we got compliments on how well behaved they were. When we got to Dallas we rented a car and drove to Shreveport, LA to Kevin and Shirley house (Billy's aunt and Uncle) which was a 4 hour drive, not the most intelligent thing we have ever done, we should have stayed the night in Dallas and started the drive in the morning, but we were so excited to get there we did it all in one day. We got to there house at 1 am in the morning and we were all exhausted. The next morning we all loaded up and drove 30 min to Caddo Lake in Texas were we rented a cabin on the Bayou which was nothing like we expected, It looked just like the scary movies but such a beautiful sight. We stayed there for 4 days and did alot of fishing and playing poker great family time. The big event at the cabin was when Billy, myself, Kevin, braiden and Javen decided to take a small trip around the lake in the boat and try to catch a few fish at the same time, we only planned on being gone about an hour because it was close to dark and getting a little chilly, plus the water is infested with alligators which is not a good place to be after dark since they are nocturnal animals, so anyways after throwing in our poles a couple of times the boys were getting bored of playing on the boat so we decided to head back. Kevin went to start the boat and a to our sup rise it would not start, so to cut the story a little short, we never got the boat started so we used a small trolling motor to get back to the cabin which took 2 hours in the pitch black dark, we got about 20 feet away from the cabin and then that motor dies so billy and kevin had to paddle the rest of the way in, talk about a trip we will never forget. The next morning we were watching the video we recorded on the boating trip and they noticed Javen had hit the main power switch to the boat, oh my gosh it was so hilarious, so needless to say it was a small switch that just needed to be turned back on and the boat would have started right back up. Uncle Kevin now call Javen "Kill Switch" it fits him well.
Kevin is a pilot instructor and he taught billy and I how to fly a small engine plane which was such a great experience and scary. All in all it was a great time away it was a 10 day vacation and we all needed it, we spent some great quality time with Grandpa Morris and each other.
